TESTING

Quality testing will be performed

VLSRC testing facilities provide advanced techniques for food, soil and water analysis which are significance to microbiological, nutritional and physico-chemical analysis.

1. Food Testing

Food in general take care of our requirement of energy and several nutrients which is necessary for a healthy living. But nutritional value, calorific value and taste are not the only aspects of food that one should be concerned about. Safety of food and contamination of food are also very important aspects of food.

Type of food products tested

» Milk and Milk product» Food Product
» Vegetable and food grains» Beverage and Water
» Bakery Products Beverages» All type of cooked food
» Mushrooms Cereal and Pulse» Fruit and Fruit Products
» Edible Oil Nuts and Oil Seeds Analysis» Mineral mixture Analysis
» Meat and Meat Products» Spices
» Pre mix food and Analysis» Sugar and Confectionery

Parameters:

Chemical analysis:

Total ash, Acid insoluble ashMoisture, Color, Flavor, Smell proximate analysis, Crude protein, Crude fiber, Non fatty energy
Toxicology - AflatoxinAcidity as citric acid
Free fatty acidHeavy metal, Trace element
Sulphur contentAccelerated shelf life study (A.S.L.) and Bulk density
Milk fat, Solid not fatTotal Dissolved Solids
Edible Oil - Chemical testsProfile study - Jam/Sauce /Chilly (Accelerated shelf life study)

2. Microbiological analysis:

Aerobic Counts (TVC / E. coli / coli form, Salmonella etc.), Anaerobic (Clostridium, Fungus /Yeast /Moulds analysis).

Nutritional analysis: Proximate analysis (Protein, CHO, NFE, Cr. Fibre, Fat).

Other tests:

1. Trace Elements - Ca, P, Na., K, Chloride, Sulphur, Copper, Cobalt, Iron etc
2. Heavy metals and poisonous substances etc
3. Toxicology - Aflatoxin and others
4. Steroid Estimation, Antibiotic and other drug residue analysis
5. Mineral and Vitamin analysis
6. Pesticide residue analysis
7. Food poisoning tests

3. Soil Testing:

The basic objective of the soil-testing facilities is to give farmers a service leading to better and more economic use of fertilizers and better soil management practices for increasing agricultural production.

1. Physicochemical Analysis

     • pH
     • Nitrate content
     • Soil Organic matter
     • Soluble salts
     • Alkanity
     • Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Potassium

2. Microbial flora of the soil

4. Water Testing:

A simple water test can restore your confidence in the safety of you and your family. More importantly, testing may reveal contaminants of water and make it pure.

1. Physicochemical analysis

     • pH
     • Turbidity
     • Temporary and permanent hardness of water
     • Chemical oxygen demand (COD)
     • Biological oxygen demand (BOD)
     • Acidity
     • Dissolved oxygen (DO)
     • Conductivity test

2. Microbial Flora of the Water

     • Coliforms detection (Fecal/Non-fecal)
